Mother-in-Law Suite Addition
Mother-in-Law Addition
Addition Project in Brighton, Colorado
Design Narrative:
This is a Proposed Addition onto an existing Single Family Residence in Adams County. While the goal of the Addition is a Mother-in-Law Suite, each level has a different function and goal. The Lower Level takes advantage of the grade change with a walk-out space for Workshop. The Main Level containing athe Mother-in-Law Bedroom Suite, Laundry, Living Area, and Deck. The Upper Level acts as an auxillary for the Main Residence, with a Guest Suite, Family Room with Vaulted Ceiling and covered/wrap-around deck.

Style-wise, the Addition was designed to fit within the theme and style of the existing Residence. Traditional materials such as horizontal siding and board and batten with contrasting stone veneer.

The Footprint/Orientation of the Addition is based on three aspects: Driveway, central (and hidden) raised deck, and "brief" connection to the existing structure to minimize impact.
